THE KING'S SPEECH

America is abuzz with  newfound hero: The King of England. Yesterday, he spoke, the first British king to ever do so, to both houses of Congress. Earlier he had met Donald Trump. Needless to say that was an historic meeting, at a time when the US is fighting Iran, Iran is executing tens of thousands of its own citizens, and the world is being held hostage financially by a state that is sending missiles to attack most of the other states in the area.  Opinion is divided on what to do.  But King Charles unified hearts and minds in DC, with both US political parties breaking into long rounds of applause. His very British sense of humour put at ease the warring representatives, in a televised speech that was watched by millions. On the third day of his visit, he came to Gotham, where he continued to win over the Yanks. Starting with Ground Zero, where he shared the stage with an ex-mayor and the current mayor, he was well received, as was his wife, Camilla.  From there t...
ROCKETMAN  Someone I respect a lot in life in Sir Elton John. His talent is unsurpassed, and his playing encouraged me at a young age to learn to play piano. Not that I will play the Steinway at Carnegie Hall, but I did learn basic music theory and can play many of his melodies and some easy Bach and Chopin. Elton of course can play a lot more. At the age of three, after hearing a Haydn concerto, he sat down and played the entire composition, note for note. In his concerts and recordings he is noted for artistic integrity. True, he had his days with drugs, which I am against, and other aspects of his lifestyle are not what I agree with. To his credit, he kicked the drug habit (Jagger and his mates, who did not want to roll stoned all their lives). Elton gave credit to a 'higher power.' To whom I credit with turning my attention to Elton. While my days of youth did not include drugs and other vices, it had some issues, and a lack at times of direction. Learning music gave me foc...

YSBIWYR, GEWYDDAU A DONALD TRUMP

Neithiwr roeddwn i yng nghinio Cymraeg Efrog Newydd, sy'n cyfarfod yn Liberty ar 29 West 35th Street.  Roedd rhai siaradwyr Cymraeg, tri siaradwr Sbaeneg, a dau siaradwr Llydaweg.  Llawer i siarad amdano, a, a hithau’n amser etholiad yn yr Unol Daleithiau, yn yr etholiad arlywyddol mwyaf cynhennus erioed, daeth enw Trump i’r amlwg. Mae’n ennill momentwm gyda llawer yn y cymunedau ffydd, er gwaethaf rhai diffygion amlwg. Mae'r gymuned Gatholig yn fwy y tu ôl iddo nag erioed, yn enwedig gan iddo fynychu'r digwyddiad codi arian blynyddol tra na wnaeth ei wrthwynebydd. Mae'r cymunedau Mwslemaidd a'r cymunedau Iddewig Uniongred hefyd yn ei gefnogi. Mae'r ddau eisiau heddwch yn y Dwyrain Canol ac yn gwybod mai arweinydd cryf sydd orau i ddelio â'r Cymhleth Diwydiannol Milwrol, sydd y tu ôl i'r rhyfeloedd. Ac mae gan gymhleth mor bwerus reswm i beidio â'i hoffi - nid oes ganddo ei arian ynddo, ac mae'n wyliadwrus ohonynt. Nid yw'r Clintons a'r B...

BLUE SKIES TURN TO BLACK IN BRITISH RACING

Last week the St George's Society of New York had a charity event at the Classic Car Club in Manhattan. About 40 members sat and watched the Formula 1 race, with Lewis Hamilton. Who won. Great day. Dan Morris, St George's member and local business advisor in the city, matched donations to the charity - which is the oldest in the US. It started before the Revolution, and has a strong relationship with HM Consulate, helping British citizens in distress. The world of British racing was plunged into just that after the ecstasy or Hamilton's win at the Silverstone race course in the Midlands.  John Hunt, a BBC racing correspondent, lost his wife and two daughters in a senseless murder just tow days after the Formula 1 event.  At present Scotland Yard has identified a 26-year-old as a suspect in the crime, no motive put forward. It is hard to imagine that a day so full of sunshine on both sides of the pond would give way to a day overcast with clouds of grief. Our prayers are wit...

WATER, WATER EVERYWHERE BUT ONLY IN A BOTTLE

Last week in the New York Times there was an article about the water scarcity in Mexico City. Yesterday's front page covered the fact that in the run up to the elections, dozens of candidates have been killed by drug dealers. A decade ago I was infiltrating some criminal groups, and one of the higher ups was a US intel chief, Michael Bagley. He had ties to a satanist in London who convened anti-Jewish groups with ties to neo-nazis. Bagley had US government contracts to fight drugs dealers in Mexico. Which I sensed meant he was working with drug dealers. Many of his contacts included people like Patty Murray, who is the most powerful woman in the US Senate.  I gave my information to a cousin who was an intel officer in the Marines. Soon afterwards the FBI set up a sting, and Bagley, whose company was called Jellyfish, was stung.  In 2016 I was giving information to the NYT about the neo nazi groups I had infiltrated, and they ran a feature story about someone here in New York...
GOD SAVE THE KING, AND ALL BRITISH CITIZENS FROM CANCER This month we had news that King Charles has cancer. We pray for him, and all the citizens of Britain who share this affliction, that they recover. What little I know about this malady is that sugar feeds it, and that people who cut out sugar - all sugar, from sucrose to fructose and everything in between, have higher changes of beating it. Here in New York there is a highly qualified oncologist who uses radiology rather than radiation, chemo or amputation to cure cancer - Dr Gil Lederman. He and his colleague Dr Daniel Izon are well know in the community. I would hope that radiology treatments are available in the United Kingdom. Let us pray also for the doctors that the Lord give them wisdom.  I might touch upon a delicate subject in saying that in many nations doctors have been known to betray their oath by foisting upon people costly and unnecessary operations, there have been many exposes in the press about this and...

HOBBITS IN CENTRAL PARK

Central Park is a feature of Gotham that was built by British architects Calvert Vaux and Jacob Wrey Mould, along with the New Englander Frederick Law Olmsted. They created the best thing about New York. Over the years, a number of features were added, especially in the north end. Having spent so much of my life in this part of the city, I decided to make a map, which was published in 2019 with the help of Robbi Robinson, a New York based singer.  We decided to jazz up the map by naming some of the natural features in Welsh. Thus the large rock on the Upper West Side at 104th St. are named 'Clogwyn Rock'. The island in the Lake is named Gwydd Island, while the island in Turtle Pond is named Hwyaden Island. That in the Harlem Meer I took the liberty of naming as well: Duck Island. I leave it for the bilingual reader to see the joke. In the Ramble, one of the Rocks I named not in Welsh but in English - Hobbit Rock; another is named Tolkein Rock.  The only time I heard Welsh spok...
